Madeleine Wickham is actually Sophie Kinsella's real name and there are about 7 books from her under the Madeleine name. So far, I only read the Shopaholic series and a few other books that are not part of that series and I loved it!!! I love how it can make me laugh and make me look stupid in public to other people who has no idea what's going on in that book. So, that's why I decided to start reading the other ones from Madeleine because I knew it would be funny and since I have completed most of her books, why not read the extra ones that she wrote many years ago?
The Wedding Girl is about Milly, who just got engaged to her boyfriend, Simon, and is about to have a very lavish and amazing wedding. But, what no one else knows is that she actually is already married like 10 years ago, to some gay dude to help him stay in the country. She kept it under wraps for 10 whole years but 4 days before her wedding, the secret came crawling out where ever it was stuffed in. Who revealed the secret is such a surprise (sorta..) to me and Milly cannot marry someone else if she is still married to someone else. And she didnt even get a divorce. Drah-mah!!
Just as I started reading this book and thought it was a bit blah, exciting things started happening. Exciting as in it made me more curious to know what would happen next. I was wondering though, why isnt it as funny as her other books and that's because the writer was going another direction, unlike the books under her Sophie Kinsella name. So, when she's Madeleine, she is less funny and when she's Sophie, she's crazy funny. Sounds good to me.
All in all, I still love her writing style. Its not as hilarious but its good enough to not make me wanna put the book down. Now, I have another 3 more books to read and I am loving it :)
You must be wondering, why in the world do I have so much time to read. Well, here's some latest update. I am currently a work from home bum. Officially became a part timer and am looking for a full time job as well. So I can keep my part time job and be more secured with a full time one. Still looking and am thinking of going back to my previous company. Praying it all goes well.
Its funny how my life is so FML-able. Everything I do will make me go FML. sigh....not cool to be me.
