Happy Easter To You All!!

For the first time in my life, I feel so glad and proud to celebrate Easter. All this while, whenever Easter came about, I wouldn't feel a thing. It felt like something that happens every year and I just blindly "celebrate" it by going to church, sometimes on Sunday itself and sometimes on Saturday evening which they call 'The Easter Vigil" where mass will go on for 2 hours or more. I guess it was something I was used to celebrating because I've been experiencing it every since I was a child.

This year, however, feels different. Very different. I finally understand what it really really means and what we, as Catholics, were looking for during Easter and the lenten season. Maybe I feel happier this year because I managed to make it through lent season by abstaining and giving up some of the things i love. Most people abstain from meat or giving up doing something they love like watching TV, using social networks, etc but as a newbie to abstaining, i decided to give up one thing i love so much - Cheese!!!!!! Yes, it was tough for awhile but I got used to it. There was once when i totally failed the cheese test but I'll replace it for one more day.

Giving up cheese may not be a big deal but to me, it is and doing it for 40 days feels like such an accomplishment and I also kinda gave up shopping unnecessarily, so...woohoo!! I guess that's what makes it super special for me this Easter. I fulfilled my lent sacrifice and I feel better. Now, all I pray fr is the strength and patience when it comes to being a better person and forgiving others all the time.

Now, I can finally start having those cheese bake rice, pizza, cheese sandwich, cheese burger, cheesey wedges, lasagna and a whole lot more!!! Alleluia!!!!

So, I guess this concludes my Easter blog post. Once again, a very Blessed Easter to everyone and may this Easter shed some light to our darkness and set us free from all negativity.

PS: When I was a kid, we used to go for midnight mass during Easter and I remember always falling asleep. Till now, the same thing will happen. Haha. I'm not fir to attend anything midnight related. Clubbing is a totally different matter *wink*
