Curious Case of The Zodiacs and Horoscopes

During a family reunion lunch on Chinese New Year Eve, an aunt came up to me and said that this year is not good for a rabbit. I was born in the year of a rabbit. So was she. I dont normally believe in zodiacs and horoscopes but once someone says things like that, I cant help but be paranoid.

She then went on to say that I should not wear anything black during CNY because its already not a good year and to improve it, I should wear more red. Also, I need to have some 'Horse' elements to have better luck. Horse elements? Aren't horses black, brown and white, in general? Does that mean that I have to wear metal like stuff aswell since horses have horse shoes? I can only imagine a glam like image. Brown leather jacket, with spikes and silver chains.

My brother was born in a year of a horse. So does this also mean I MUST have him by my side at all times so have better luck? Horse mah!! Gosh, I dunno.

Then, today I flipped open January's issue of Cleo magazine and it said that those who are born a Leo will have a great 2011. Career, love, and life wise. I'm a Leo. Erm....okaaaay. What does this mean? Lets say I am a strong believer of all this zodiacs/horoscopes thingamajig, I think i will be even more paranoid and confused. So is it good or bad? First half of the year bad and the second half good? All year long bad/good? Leo is a lion and they eat rabbits so means they eat the bad luck away and means, good year anyways? *dizzy*

The best part is I start my new job next week and for the past 3 weeks, I've been living in fear because I dont know what to expect in the new place. I always think that nothing is perfect therefore if you get your dream job, there will be something shitty waiting at the corner to pounce on you. Think my internship. On the other hand, if you hate your job, you'll have good friends there and it'll make everything less shitty.

So when this aunt told me what a bad year I'll have, even more paranoid and wary I became. I couldnt help but to think that confirm I'll be miserable. Officially more scared. So, thanks a lot.

I guess what I'm trying to say here is how do you know what to believe when one side says one thing and the other says something else. Do you blind yourself and believe that only the good will happen? I know that I shouldn't put so much/any trust in zodiacs and horoscopes because only God has the master plan of my 2011 and of my life but I find this a bit weird. Thats all.

I guess the best way to describe what I believe in is I dont want to know the ending of movie before watching it myself. God is the director of my movie. Amen.
