First, we had breakfast at Madras Lane. Its like this row of hawker stalls selling the. same. food. Only chee cheong fun, yong tau foo and curry mee. The whole lane. Many hawkers. Just those food. Those variety didnt tickle my fancy so I settled for chee cheong fun. I usually like the roll roll chee cheong fun but they had none!! Has it extinct or what? I dunno. Its been too long
After breakfast, we walked through this wet market which is connected to Madras Lane. It was very the stinko.

Its been waaaaaay too long since I stepped into a wet market. When I was a little girl, I used to enjoy following my mom to the market. I used to have this mini basket which used to come with the masak-masak set and I would bring it along to the market. Imagine, my mom with her bigger basket and me, with the mini one. It could only carry eggs. Damn, wasnt I kiut back then? lmao.
So my point is, I used to enjoy the market but now...omg. I cant survive even a minute in it. How to go food shopping next time? This is where the fresh stuff are from some more. Dunno why am I so worried about such nonsense.

Godma (in pink) was another one who cant stand the sight of chickens being slit in the neck and also the smell of the place. So, we both quickly ran out while mom and uncle Tan enjoyed their time looking at chicken and fish. Even the chicken man could recognise my mom from her last visit. Swt.
Once we were done with the market, we entered p-street. Mom and uncle Tan, yet again, enjoyed themselves in this shop where they sold dried food like dried salted fish, ikan bilis, etc. Again, the smell. Ugh. But...that's where the good stuff are, no?

The dried food place was very typical chinese style with abacus as the calculating tool. Classicly awesome. The abacus reminds me of when I was 8 years old. My dad forced me to attend the mental arithmetics class which taught us how to use the abacus and count without using our fingers but use the mental. Oh boy. Clair and maths so dont mix. I miss using the abacus though.
Oh oh oh, while strolling down the street, we passed by.....

Memories of all sorts started rushing in. This bookstore was the place where my dream came true. I was face to face with 4 boys I adored and was first in line to meet them, got their autographs and spoke silly chinese words to them. And then, they made me float all the way to cloud nine. goshh. Who am I speaking of??? ENERGY!!! The Taiwanese boyband who were once popular. Hell yeah, I am not ashamed to admit it. kekekeke.
At p-street, I spotted this Juicy Couture bag and it was pretty!!! The guy offered me a price, i bargained but failed. i walked out of the shop and he didnt chase me and lower the price so I thought, whatevs. I wont pay RM 65 for a fake bag from P-street a.k.a china town. If it was in some mall, maybe considerable lah.
The same night, it was also Earth Hour, where everyone is required to turn off their lights. Sadly, I didnt participate because 1) I think its pretty pointless. Once a year for an hour? If you wanna save the world, you should do it every month or something. Then, 2) I was not in the mood so...hehehe.
I was at godma's place and the people there were equally ignorant.

Tsk tsk tsk.
