Sickly Stout

The past week have been such an emotional roller coaster ride for me. My one and only Stout is so not feeling well. It's weird how things can change with a snap of a finger. One day he would be pulling me as I take him out for walks and the next day, he turned out to be exactly the opposite. He didnt pull me and he didnt want to jump out of the gate for me to take him out. Worry pangs hit me so hard.

I thought that this would be a 24 hour kinda thing but I guess I was wrong so we decided to take him to the vet on Monday. He's been like that since last Friday. The vet was a young girl who looked like she was freshly out of the university oven and honestly, I didnt like her. The one thing she did that totally gave me a bad vibe was when she made my mom put the muzzle on for Stout because he gave a slight growl when she tried to do it herself. She also made ME clean his eyes because he was growling a little.

If you are an experienced vet or even a fresh new one, you would have enough brains to do it yourself. Dont tell me ah, if one day someone brings a more fierce dog to the clinic, you would make them do all the things for you??? Or make the owners bring their fierce dogs to another clinic? Looks like you'll only be treating cute furry ones lah, like hamsters, cats, timid little puppies, etc. If our other dog groomer can handle a fierce scary ass dog like Sparky (our other dog), so can you!!!

Her disappointing-ness doesnt end there. The next day, Stout's condition was worst!!! It was so bad that I even cried. In the morning, he ate and took his meds but when afternoon came he was clearly in bad shape. He couldnt move and was just lying down....with teary eyes, he didnt want to eat, drink or even get up and he was shivering as well. I was convinced that he might just die. I was also thinking of bringing him to another vet and was prepared to hear "I think we must put him to sleep". Since most of the vets were closed at that time, my mom called the sweet young thing of a vet and told her his condition. Her response? "I cant really tell what's wrong with him but if you want to know, you must bring him for a blood test. Result will take 3 days to come out". What if he died within the 3 days?? A bit too late right?? Stupid. Oh, did I mention that she said Stout can live until 20 years old. False hope much???

Thankfully, we were patient enough to wait and see how he progresses because yesterday, in the evening, he stood up, ate and even peed. When I saw it with my own eyes, I was very very happy happy!! Its like a mother seeing her child walk for the first time. He may just be a dog but he means so much to me so dont call me a drama queen for having such exaggerated emotions.

Note to the doctor: Please do yourself a favour and retake your vet course!! Or maybe continue your training with a more experienced senior because YOU SUCK!!!

This is Stout on Monday night, resting his head.

Tuesday afternoon onwards until yesterday evening, he was like that. Not moving and nothing. Just shivering. Damn worried balls okay!!

Today he seems better. He ate in the morning and went for a short walk. I fed him a few pinches of fries and he looked happier. Hehee. So happy that he happily walked in the house and peed. Its okay baby, I dont mind cleaning up the mess ;)

I hope he lives on <3

The end.
